The last deployment was on the Tibetan Plateau in the NianBao Yuze region in the province of Qinghai, China. NianBao Yuze is a unique destination, source of the three major waterways of Asia: the Mekong, Yangtze, and Yellow river. Rivers a focal site of trash, accumulating more and more as they flow downstream into the ocean. By tackling waste upstream, we can reduce the volume of trash reaching the sea. For this expedition, the TRASHPRESSO team will partner with a local environmental group, the Nyanpo Yutse Environment Association (NYANTSOG). During the month of November, the Trashpresso team had hold workshops for local school children to teach them about recycling and the importance of environmental conservation.
